Voluntary Participation in OOCC
To participate in the OOCC as a voluntary member, handlers must complete the voluntary participation form and notify the OOCC office. Voluntary members maintain their Member in Good Standing by completing all required testing and submitting the necessary documentation each compliance year. The fee for voluntary participation is $0.16 per gallon of production.
For the 2025–2026 compliance year, voluntary members are not being sampled by CDFA and therefore must independently arrange and complete testing for every lot of olive oil produced through an OOCC-approved accredited laboratory. Voluntary members are required to have each lot evaluated for the following quality parameters: Free Fatty Acid Content (FFA); Absorbency in Ultraviolet (K232, K270, and ∆K); and Organoleptic Analysis (MeD and MeF). All required results must be submitted to the OOCC through completed Form A and Form B.
A directory of approved chemistry and sensory laboratories can be found here: Accredited Laboratory Directory. CDFA sampling may be required in future seasons at the discretion of the OOCC.
